Recently inaugurated Catalonia Princesa Hotel is located in a magnificent building typical of the architecture of Barcelona's gothic quarter.
The building is part of the urban morphology of the old town of Barcelona, dates from 19th century. Near the Arco de Triunfo and the Ciudadela Park, it is situated in the historic and commercial centre of Barcelona, only a few minutes away from Plaza Catalunya.

Catalonia Princesa Hotel is situated in the historic and commercial centre of the city, a few minutes to the "Arco del Triumfo" and the "Parque de la Ciudadela", and very close to Plaza Catalunya and the Gothic area.

* The hotel has 90 rooms, all equipped with the latest amenities and conveniences to provide our clients with the ultimate comfort.
* Rooms have wooden floor and furniture and most of them have a separate shower in addition to the bathroom; each one boasting air-conditioning, heating, satellite TV, canal , direct dial phone, safety box, minibar and a full marble bathroom with hairdryer.

My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights before going on a Mediterranean cruise. From the outside the area looks a bit run down but the hotel is modern and clean inside. The rooms are a bit small but its adequate and the bathroom was quite new and well appropriated. The breakfast buffet is good and we just walked every where. I wouldn't walk in the inside streets at night but I would definitely stay there again. Its not 5 star but for the price, its a very good hotel.

Very clean Hotel with helpful friendly staff. Situated in an area which seems to be both residential and commercial with loads of small interesting shops selling just about everything. Very close to Arc de Triomf station (200 mtrs). Area looks a bit run down on approach but the hotel is very modern. Rooms a bit on the small side but clean and adequate. Nice bathrooms with good showers/baths. Very well placed for walking to La Rambla, Place de Cataluyna and loads of other places. Breakfast buffet is superb. Tends to be bit of noise in early morning (around 0600 hrs) when local businesses put out their bins and put up the shutters of their shops. Also seems to be a local habit around this time to converse with your neighbour in as loud a voice as possible! Normal "big city" security awareness is required but we had no problems. It was quite refreshing that during the whole stay no one pestered us trying to sell something. Would I go back to the same Hotel -- YES Would I recommend it to friends -- YES. NB -- evening meal in Hotel is great value.

Stayed here April 2003. Appreciated the 20 minutes direct from airport to metro/train station Arc de Triunfa just across the street. Room was good, breakfast excellent and hotel is very near for Gothic quarter, Ramblas etc

Nice, clean, spacious rooms, a little out the way though. Friendly staff who helped us out when our on-line booking was mishandled!

I was concerned about booking a hotel here due to the lack of information and pictures that existed on the place. The inside of the hotel was very nice & modern. The hotel staff spoke very good English and were of tremendous help to us. The room itself was on the small side, but the bathroom had two showers with very hot water. The hotel itself is on a street called REC Comtal, not Comtal, so it is farther away than we were hoping for. The neighborhood felt safe during the day, but was a bit sketchy at night. A little further away from things than I wanted to be, but the walk to the beach and the touristy sites is doable. Overall a nice experience & would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to get away from the noise of Las Ramblas - as long as you're willing to spring 3 or 4 Euros for the cab ride back late at night. Also relatively close to the Metro.
