Machiavelli Palace is a first-class hotel, located in the historic heart of Florence. This charming hotel is housed in a 16th century building, which was formerly a convent. Completely renovated in 1990, the Machiavelli Palace has all the features and comforts of a modern hotel. Yet it retains all the best features of the original structure, with some lovely, old, wood carved ceilings and typical Florentine furniture and frescos. There are splendid views over the terracotta roofs of the whole city.

Hotel adequate but photos do it more justice than actual experience. Superb location and clean but room was pokey and shower cubicle so small, you couldn't turn around without hitting the tap which turned the water off!!
Breakfast ok, bar very expensive.
