We stayed here over Easter this year. The room we although not enormous was more than adequate. You only need somewhere to sleep! The staff were, without exception, extremely friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and tidy. It is situated in an ideal location for sightseeing.

We stayed in the La Scala in Feb 2003. There had been a mix up re booking and we were installed elsewhere for our 1st night ( 5 star Hotel nearby and V good), taken there and back and put into a suite of rooms as an apology for the disruption. Our suite was beautiful, newly done and spotlessly clean. Decor: Venetian with a modern slant; a small hotel but one we felt had a special intimacy. Our rooms weren't tiny. They were spacious. There were no bugs and the steel mirrored elevator was a delight. Every floor was designed with a different colour scheme. We plan to return there this Christmas if we can.

I was very pleasantly surprized by this hotel especially after reading the review sent on 7 July 2003. The rooms are small and perhaps more room for suitcases would be useful; however everything was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was very complete-lots of towels and so forth. The receptionists and other employees were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally located.
